Freelance Orchestral Cellist

I'm a busy freelance Orchestral Cellist. Based just North of Bristol, I perform regularly in Bristol, Bath, Gloucestershire and across the UK. After several successful years registered with the Morgensterns Diary Service, I can now be booked for orchestral engagements via The Classical Music Homepage. I have worked with some of the world's leading conductors, including Sir Simon Rattle, Sakari Oramo, Oliver Knussen, Stephen Barlow, Sir Barry Wordsworth, Simone Young and Paul Daniel. The orchestras I have worked with include:

  • Cellist in UK Dury Loveridge - Cello Lessons, orchestral cellistBritish Concert Orchestra
  • Jersey Symphony & Concert Orchestras
  • Britten-Pears Orchestra
  • British Police Symphony Orchestra
  • City of Bristol Symphony Orchestra
  • Regency Sinfonia
  • Dartington Festival Orchestra
  • National Musicians' Symphony Orchestra
  • Birmingham Philharmonic

I am also a regular pit musician for shows and orchestras, including:

  • Jesus Christ Superstar
  • Westside Story
  • Crazy For You
  • HMS Pinafore
  • Ariadne Auf Naxos
  • The Cunning Little Vixen
  • L'Elisir d'Amour

I have a particular interest in contemporary music, which began whilst at Birmingham University as a composer/performer, working with members of the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group (BCMG), and continued at the Britten-Pears School for Advanced Musical Studies, where I was able to work with Oliver Knussen and members of the London Sinfonietta. I have worked with a number of smaller chamber orchestras specialising in performances of contemporary music, including performances of new works at the Aldeburgh Festival.
